Tteok Bok ki /떡볶이/

I'm late, writing this... but I went to the Pooler location July 4th to celebrate my birthday (next day) with my sisters. The food was awesome! Definitely coming back soon. My dad love bulgogi. Maybe I'll have the jajangmyeon next.

Tteok Bok ki /떡볶이/

I ordered the small serving which is more than I expected for a small portion. It is a popular street food in Korea. I've had this before at other places but it's usually too spicy and too sweet at the same time. Bewon's tteok bok ki, however, is neither of those things. There is excellent flavor, not over powering at all and you get a boiled egg with it. This dish is not for the carb sensitive folks though, fyi.

25 Pork Bulgogi /돼지불고기/

My other son ordered this and was super impressed! I, too, had to sample and loved it very much! The pork was tender and the regular onions and green onions were cooked to perfection with being wilty!

Tteok Bok ki /떡볶이/

Stopped overnight at Pooler, Ga. Found Bewons BBQ online and decided to try. My boys and I were not disappointed! I’ve seen tteok bok ki on k-dramas, and always wanted to try it. Boy, I’m glad I was finally able to. It was very delicious! A perfect mix of savory and sweet! Not too salty or sweet! Sauce was so well balanced and not too spicy! Will be ordering again!

34 Black Bean Paste Noodles /짜장면/

This is a favorite on many Korean dramas, so I had to try it. It's not a visually appealing dish, but it's surprisingly tasty. There is pork, potato, zucchini, and onion from what I could tell and the noodles have a nice chewy texture. If you are on a first date, this might not be the dish to order, but if you want to sample a Korean favorite, give this dish a go!

10 Ginseng Chicken Soup /삼계탕/

This soup is a medicinal soup for the hottest days of summer. It's not heavily seasoned like you might expect. It's a Cornish hen cooked in water with ginseng, garlic, and jujube. It is served with some dipping salt for the chicken. It requires effort to pick chicken off the bone while in the broth with chopsticks and a spoon. The chicken is in between fall off the bone tender and not quite there. There is also some rice in the soup with green onion. I enjoyed it; it's an authentic lesser known Korean dish. It does require more effort to eat, but it will not make you fat and it's very healthy which I like. Food is medicine, especially ginseng chicken soup!

34 Black Bean Paste Noodles /짜장면/

The jjachangmeon (black bean sauce noodles) were on point especially when paired with the side dishes they graciously provide! Love it! Brought back memories when I first tried this dish so many years ago!!!

21 Fried Rice / 볶음밥 /

My son ordered this and was very pleased! I tried it myself and was pleased as well! For those that don’t prefer onions, this dish doesn’t have any.
